This notice is to inform you of the bridge replacement being done at Tyler Brook.
Please see below for details:
What: Replacing twin culverts with a bridge
Where: Tyler Brook at Letourneau Drive
When: Starting July 21, 2025 with substantial completion by November 30, 2025
Impacted Addresses: Letourneau Drive Neighborhood
The Jaffrey Public Works Department has teamed with Neil Daniels, Inc. to replace the twin culverts that were installed when the road washed out in the floods of July 2021. The installation of a bridge at this location was necessary to comply with New Hampshire Department of Environmental Service’s stream crossing rules that require a bank to bank opening for streams of this size and magnitude.
The first phase of this project will be to move the watermain which is currently under the existing culverts. Next a temporary bridge will be installed adjacent to the work zone for access to the neighborhood. When that is complete, the existing culverts will be removed and the new bridge will be constructed in their place. This project is funded through a FEMA Mitigation Grant that is 90% Federal funding and 10% Town funding.
Please exercise caution when driving near the work zone in order to keep everyone safe. Be mindful of all road closure signs.
Please call The Department of Public Works at (603) 532 – 6521 with any questions or concerns.
