COVID-19 Update for the Town of Jaffrey - June 15, 2020

PUBLIC NOTICE UPDATE June 15, 2020 - Town of Jaffrey Pandemic Planning and Closures

The Town Office will continue to be closed to public access and operate on an appointment basis until further notice.  The Town Clerk and Tax Collector will be open to the public for walk-ins on Thursdays from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm.  The entry lobby and the Clerk's lobby are too narrow to accommodate more than one person at a time.  Therefore, queuing will be available in the conference room.  If the Clerk's lobby is occupied, please join the queue in the conference room and observe social distancing.

Staff continues working behind the scenes and will work to respond to you as quickly as possible.  Many of our services are already provided online through our website at  Staff emails and phone numbers are listed on the website.  We will continue monitoring email and phone messages throughout this crisis.  If you must see a staff member for any reason, please call the Town Office before you visit to ensure the correct person is available for you.

  • Masks are required when entering any town facility.  We will wear ours to return the courtesy to you.  Social distancing in our facilities, particularly in the Town Office, is very difficult to maintain due to the small entry ways and lobbies.  Please, wear a mask.  If you do not have a mask, use a scarf or bandana.  We also have masks available if you need one.
  • All Town facilities are restricted from public access.  Please call the respective  department if you need their services.
  • Recycling at the transfer station has reopened for cardboard and mixed paper.  The trash compactor will be available for disposal of all other household waste.  Additionally, please use discretion discarding bulky waste and wait to discard items requiring a disposal fee, such as televisions or propane tanks, until the situation abates.
  • Jaffrey Public Library - In addition to an extensive list of digital services, the library is offering curbside service by appointment. Summer Learning program begins June 15. See the library website and newsletter for more information.
  • Recreation Department – Playgrounds, parks, and beaches are open for use. Social distancing is recommended while both on land and in the water. In addition to virtual programs and events, Camp Rec summer day program will begin June 22nd. Please view the recreation department’s website or newsletter for more information.

We ask for your patience during this difficult time as we do our best to protect our residents and our staff.  We ask you to exercise care in your personal contacts and follow those practices being recommended by health officials.  Please check our website and Facebook page for updates.  A hot button has been placed in the Citizen Action Center titled, “COVID-19 Information” with information from various sources about the pandemic.
