COVID-19 Update for the Town of Jaffrey - March 9, 2021

PUBLIC NOTICE UPDATE March 9, 2021 - Town of Jaffrey Pandemic Planning and Closures

The Town Office will continue to be closed to public access and operate on an appointment basis.  The Town Clerk and Tax Collector will be open extended hours for appointments on Thursdays from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm.  Properly worn masks are required to enter the Town Office.  The entry lobby and the Clerk's lobby are too narrow to accommodate more than one person at a time.  Therefore, queuing will be available in the conference room, if necessary.  If there is someone in the Clerk's lobby, please queue up in the conference room and observe social distancing.  When you arrive for your appointment, please ring the doorbell on the inside door frame.

Staff continues working behind the scenes and will work to respond to you as quickly as possible.  Many of our services are already provided online through our website at www.townofjaffrey.com.  Staff emails and phone numbers are listed on the website.  We will continue monitoring email and phone messages throughout this crisis.  If you must see a staff member for any reason, please call the Town Office before you visit to ensure the correct person is available for you.

  • Properly worn masks are required when entering any town facility.  We will wear ours to return the courtesy to you.  Social distancing in our facilities, particularly in the Town Office, is very difficult to maintain due to the small entry ways and lobbies.  Please, wear a mask.  If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you.
  • All Town facilities are restricted from public access.  Please call the respective department if you need their services.
  • Recycling at the transfer station is fully operational.  Please visit the Transfer Station page of the website for details.
  • Jaffrey Public Library. See the library website and newsletter for more information.
  • Recreation Department – Playgrounds, parks, and beaches are open for use. Social distancing is recommended while both on land and in the water. Please view the recreation department’s website or newsletter for more information.

We ask for your patience during this difficult time as we do our best to protect our residents and our staff.  We ask you to exercise care in your personal contacts and follow those practices being recommended by health officials.  Please check our website and Facebook page for updates.  A hot button has been placed in the Citizen Action Center titled, “COVID-19 Information” with information from various sources about the pandemic.

Town Meeting will be held on Saturday, April 24th at 9:00 am in the Hope Fellowship parking lot.  We will conduct the same drive-in style as last June.  Attendees will be in their cars or outdoors to reduce the potential for COVID exposure.

We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation.

Jon Frederick, Jaffrey Town Manager
