  • Both parties must be present together to fill out the marriage application. The process takes approximately 30 minutes. Please call to set up an appointment. 

    Note: If this marriage is 1st for both, your driver's license is all that is needed. However, if it is not, you must provide an original divorce decree or death certificate.

    The license is valid for 90 days, and the cost is $50. You may request your marriage certificate anytime after I have received the license back from your officiant. The cost is $15.

    If your officiant is from out of state, they must apply for a special letter through the Secretary of State Office, and this letter must be returned with your marriage license.

    • You must provide proof of residency. 1 of the following 3 documents is required.
      1. Lease agreement / Deed
      2. Utility Bill or Cable Bill
      3. Letter from the person you are residing with, which must be signed by the owner of the property, and their signature must be notarized.
    • Your Driver's License (even if it is still out of state)
    • The title and vehicle registration. If you have a loan on the vehicle, registration will be done in a 2-step process. Note: Please be sure to bring in your lienholder information.

  • As of January 1, 2015, motor vehicles year 2000 and newer need titles. For a vehicle that is 1999 or older, a person must present to the clerk at the time of registering either a previously issued New Hampshire certificate of registration or copy thereof (temporary registrations do not meet the requirements of previously issued), a valid title or copy of (NH or out of state) or a vehicle identification verification form completed by an authorized agent named on the form (these forms may be obtained at the Town Clerks Office) and a bill of sale. Vehicles 2000 and newer need a title and a bill of sale.
