Welcome to your online Reference Desk, available 24 / 7. Please check out the topics in the menu for more information.
This page is maintained by your professional library staff to bring you reliable, trustworthy resources. You can't believe everything you read online, so please take a moment to watch this YouTube video about the CRAAP test (created by a school librarian), a method anyone can use to evaluate internet resources. CRAAP stands for:
- Currency - The timeliness of information.
- Relevance - Does the information relate to your needs?
- Authority - The source of the information.
- Accuracy - The reliability, truthfulness, and correctness of the content.
- Purpose - The reason the information exists. (For example, is it a .com site with ads trying to sell you something or a .gov site trying to share public information?)
If you need additional help, please call and ask to speak to one of the librarians who can help answer your reference question.
