Anyone receiving financial assistance under APTD (Aid to the Permanently and Totally Disabled ) or OAA (Old Age Assistance) is not at the same time eligible for town assistance per state law.
If you have a mortgage, a lien will be placed on your property, repayable at the sale of the property.
If, at your appointment, you are suspected of abusing alcohol, illegal substances, or medications, you will be required to leave the office and reschedule your appointment.
Anyone who makes an appointment but does not keep it or notify the office of a cancellation is automatically suspended from applying for or receiving assistance for 7 days, other than for immediate emergencies.
If you do not live in Jaffrey, you must apply to the Welfare Department in the town or city you reside in.
