The Clay Library Fund is intended to strengthen the ability of the Jaffrey Public Library to maintain the magnificent building that houses our library and to preserve and showcase the history of Jaffrey. Named to honor Susan B. Clay, whose generous bequest in 1894 enabled the construction of our library, this fund may be used for the restoration, preservation, and maintenance of JPL’s current and future buildings. This fund may also be used to support the library’s collections and programming related to local history.
The Clay Library Fund is administered by the Jaffrey Public Library Board of Trustees under the terms of its Investment Policy. Gifts should be made payable to the Jaffrey Public Library with a notation “Clay Library Fund.”
Principal and income of the Clay Library Fund may be expended by a vote of the trustees for the stated purpose of the fund.
