Contoocook Beach & Shattuck Park

Contoocook Beachgoers (JPEG)Contoocook Beach and Shattuck Park are both swim at your own risk facilities. Buoyed swim areas are in place from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.  

Jaffrey Town Code: Chapter 155 Article IV

Parking at Town public beaches (Contoocook Beach and Shattuck Park) is for permitted vehicles of town residents only.

  • Residents must have a Transfer Station Permit affixed to their vehicles to park at these two locations. Permits are distributed at the Town Clerk's Office.
  • Vehicles without a permit will be subject to a $50 fine and towing at the vehicle owner's expense. Restrictions are for parking only.
  • The Town's public beaches remain open for use by residents and non-residents.
  • Chapter 155 - Article IV of Jaffrey Town Code was approved in September 2020.
  • Non-residents can park at Humiston Field (31 Howard Hill Road, Jaffrey, NH) and walk to Contooocook Beach.
