Descendant Attends

Among the honored guests Monday was Gertrude Cleverdon of Peterborough, a great-great-great-granddaughter of Abel Wilder. She and her husband have a summer home on Lake Monomonac in Rindge.

State Senator Jean White (R-Rindge) said a few words, thanking Deschenes for his efforts and noting the appropriateness of having a marker granite to represent New Hampshire.

A letter was read from Mrs. Paul Bridges of Keene, a descendant of Oliver Gould. Selectman Gould of Winchendon said he himself may be related to the small pox victim but isn't sure.
