April 30, 2019 message to the Advisory Committee

Dear Advisory Committee Members,

It’s been awhile since our last communication, so I want to provide you a brief update on the US 202 Dog-Leg project. First, as some of you may have heard, Victoria Chase, the NHDOT’s project manager has taken on a new position with the NHDOT, and as a result, the NHDOT is in the process of assigning a new project manager to the US 202 project. Be assured that Victoria is committed to making herself available to the new project manager to ensure a seamless transition. Once the new project manager is in place, we plan to schedule an Advisory Committee meeting to have you meet the new project manager and provide you more details on the project status.

In the meantime, we’re continuing to advance the project. Specifically we have been:

  • Meeting individually with property owners who’s properties are being impacted by the project,
  • Working with the New Hampshire Department of Historic Resources to assess potential impacts to cultural resources within the East Jaffrey Historic District,
  • Continuing to finalize the Environmental Study, which documents the resource impacts and identifies which environmental permits will be required.

As for the formal Public Hearing, we expect to hold it at the end of the summer following summer vacations in order to maximize public attendance.

I hope to be back in touch within the next couple of weeks with a date for our Advisory Committee meeting.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Thanks, Marty
