Announcement: Resident Only Parking at Town Beaches
The Jaffrey Police Department would like to educate and warn people of parking changes at our Town Beaches.
The Jaffrey Town Code: Chapter 155 - Article IV was approved in September of 2020. To summarize it says:
- Parking at Town public beaches (Contoocook Beach and Shattuck Park) is for permitted vehicles of town residents only.
- Residents must have a Transfer Station Permit affixed to their vehicles to park at these two locations. Permits may be obtained at the Town Clerk's Office.
- Vehicles without a permit will be subject to a $50 fine and towing at vehicle owner's expense.
- The Town's public beaches remain open for use by residents and non-residents. Restrictions are for parking only.
Other related parking restrictions:
- Parking on Squantum Rd from Howard Hill Rd to Woodbound Rd is prohibited.
- Parking on sidewalks is prohibited.
- Parking in any manner that obstructs a roadway is prohibited.
- Parking in any manner that blocks a private driveway is prohibited.
All violations are subject to a $50 fine and towing at the vehicle owner's expense.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Respectfully,
Chief Muilenberg
