Community Outreach

Jaffrey PD Community Outreach Logo

The Jaffrey Police Department firmly believes in the concept of “Community Policing”.  Community policing is defined as “a philosophy that promotes organizational strategies that support the systematic use of partnerships and problem-solving techniques to proactively address the immediate conditions that give rise to public safety issues such as crime, social disorder, and fear of crime.” Three of the most important elements of community policing are positive interaction with citizens, partnerships, and problem solving.

"Community Outreach" is a critical component of Community Policing.  We strive to actively implement and participate in programs that educate our citizens, enhance public safety, and foster positive relationships with the people we serve.  Our outreach efforts come in many forms.  Aside from our benevolent activities we have developed presentations and programs on many topics and we can deliver them to many different groups. Some examples include:

Schools – Lockdown Drills, Active Shooter Training, Law Related Education, Drug and Alcohol Awareness, Red Ribbon Week Presentations, Career Day

Library – Active Shooter Training, Youth Forensics Science Program, Book Readings

Businesses – Basic Security, Active Shooter Training, Protest Response Protocols

Churches – Basic Security, Active Shooter Training

Private Citizens – Home Security, Scam Awareness, Basic Safety Tips

If you are interested in having a Jaffrey Police Officer do a presentation for your group just give us a call.  603-532-7865
