Community Outreach Photos
The Jaffrey Police Department firmly believes in the concept of Community Policing. Community Outreach is a critical component of that. We strive to actively participate in programs that educate our citizens, enhance public safety, and foster positive relationships with the people we serve. Here are some examples of what we have done recently to do just that...
JPD's entry in the Scarecrows on the Common contest...
Officer Kelsea Ashmore and Brianna Rogers teach local children about Forensic Science at the Library...
Our friends at "Station 16" host "Cone with a Cop". Station 16 donated the ice cream and we distributed bicycle helmets and some swag to our local kids. We also raised money for Reality Check, our local drug abuse resource organization. Officer Kelsea Ashmore, Officer Troy Ashmore, Officer Zach Lazzaro, and Detective LaBlanc in action...
The 2022 Safety Expo was a hit. We partnered with the Jaffrey Fire Department, JRMA, New Hampshire State Police, and New Hampshire Fish and Game. Officer Joe Hileman, Officer Troy Ashmore, and Officer Kelsea Ashmore in action...
Our friends at McDonald's hosts a Public Safety Day each year. We partner with our fellow officers from Rindge PD to meet and greet the public. Retired Chief Bill Oswalt, Sergeant Tom Bishop, and Officer Kelsea Ashmore in action...
During the holiday seasons the Jaffrey Police Association purchases and distributes holiday meals to those people who may need a little holiday cheer. Helping Santa during Town Events is also a common practice. Sergeant Bishop, Sergeant Tucker, and a couple elves in action...
Every few years the Jaffrey Police Department partners with the Jaffrey Fire Department and the Conant High School to conduct "Project Crash". First responders along with student actors role play a fatal car crash scenario involving a drunk driver to emphasize the importance of driving sober to the entire student body who are gathered to watch the event. Chief Todd Muilenberg, Sergeant Joe Golinski, and Officer Amanda Swanson role played during the last event.
Occasionally we get to help out our wild life in need. Sergeant Bishop helps a snapping turtle cross Main Street and Chief Muilenberg helps release a hawk that was hit by a car and rehabilitated by a local "Wildlife Rescue" group.
