Contoocook Beach & Shattuck Park are both swim at your own risk facilities. Buoyed swim areas are in place from Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day Weekend.

Jaffrey Town Code: Chapter 155 Article IV
Parking at Town public beaches (Contoocook Beach and Shattuck Park) is for permitted vehicles of town
residents only.

  • Residents must have a Transfer Station Permit affixed to their vehicles to park at these two locations. Permits are distributed at Town Clerk's Office.
  • Vehicles without a permit will be subject to a $50 fine and towing at vehicle owner's expense. Restrictions are for parking only.
  • The Town's public beaches remain open for use by residents & non-residents.
  • Chapter 155 - Article IV of Jaffrey Town Code was approved in September 2020. 
  • Non Residents can park at Humiston Field (31 Howard Hill Road Jaffrey, NH.) and walk to Contooocook beach.
