The Conant Indigent Fund

Created: 1942
Purpose: Welfare.

"I give and bequeath to the Town of Jaffrey, the place I reside, one Cambridge bond $1,000, one Cheshire Rail Road Bond of $1,000. and sixteen shares of my Cheshire Rail Road Stock. The principal to constitute a perpetual fund and the income thereof to be forever applied for the benefit of the poor of said Town who are not paupers aided by said Town or by the County to be ANNUALLY distributed among said poor by a committee of three persons, two of whom shall be females, said committee to be annually appointed by the Selectmen of the Town in the month of March and to render an account and make a report of their proceeding ANNUALLY, at the annual Town Meeting in March. "
