The Old Burying Ground Fund

Created: 1950
Purpose: Cemetery.

"Voted at Annual Town Meeting, March 1930 that a committee of three be appointed to have general care and supervision of the Old Town Burying Ground at Jaffrey Center with authority to prescribe rules and regulations for its future uses, lay out and sell lots in the unoccupied portion thereof, fix prices at which they shall be sold, give title deeds in the name of the town and to receive and expend the income of Trust Funds devoted to the care of lots or the care of said burying ground as a whole according to the terms thereof, and that the term of service of the committee hereby chosen shall be for one year or until their successors are apointed.

It was also voted under this article that all money hereafter received for the sale of lots in the Old Town Burying Ground at Jaffrey Center be invested as a special Trust Fund in the care of the regularly appointed Trustees of Trust Funds, the income therefrom to be expended under the supervision of the Committee heretofore named or its successors for the general care and improvement of the burying ground named."

"I give and bequeath to the Town of Jaffrey, as Trustee in Trust, the sum of $1,000 to hold and invest and expend the income annually in the care, maintenance and improvement of my cemetery lot in the Old Cemetery in Jaffrey Center, N.H. If there should be any excess of income I direct said Trustee to expend the same annually in the care and improvement of the Cemetery."

Henry V. Shattuck Cemetery Fund. "Article 8. To the Town of Jaffrey, I give and bequeath the sum of $300.00 dollars in trust nevertheless, to be held as a Cemetery Trust Fund, and the same to be invested and reinvested from time to time and income to be used solely for the care, maintenance and proper upkeep of the Daniel Cutter, Elwin R. Spaulding, & Henry V. Shattuck Lot all situated in the Cemetery in Jaffrey Center."
